"I
have been a resident of Cornwall for over 32 years. I'm married
and have 2 grown children. I received my B.A. from Ladycliff
College in 1970. I taught a private school on Long Island
before I married and had a family. I also volunteered for
5 years teaching religious education classes for my church.
In 1982, I started work at Butterhill Day School as a substitute
teacher which quickly turned into a permanent position as
the lead teacher for the 3 year old class. I kept that position
for several years and was eventually asked to be the lead
teacher at the school.
During these years, I attended many workshops on Early Childhood
Education and took 2 Early Childhood college courses to keep
myself up to date on the changing world of education. The
last 4 and a half years at Butterhill have become very challenging
for me. I am now the director of the school and every day
brings something new and different for me. It is my job to
make sure that everyone that comes to Butterhill has a great
start on their school career. I try to make every child and
parent feel that Butterhill is a safe, fun, educational and
nurturing environment for them. Children always bring so much
laughter and enthusiasm to school every time they come and
that's why I come. It's a fun place to work!" |

I am a resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson and have lived there for the last twelve years with my husband and three children. I graduated from Orange County Community College in 1998 with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and am now pursuing my Bachelors in Special Education. I have also attended many many workshops throughout the years to keep myself up to date with the changes that occur everyday in education.
I have been working for Butterhill for the past seven years. I started as an assistant in the three year old room which quickly turned into lead teacher for the next five years. I then moved into the transitional room for children that were not quite ready for pre-k, where I spent one year, and this past September I became the lead teacher for the pre-k program.
I have enjoyed every step of the way leading up to my new position as director of the school and look forward to many more years with the Butterhill family. I have made many friends with the teachers and families but also with all the children that have walked through our front door. Every year is another journey, another group of smiling faces and more memories to be made.
